Ayva is One Year Older

Ayva turned nine this year.  It is amazing to me to think that she has been with our little family that long.  I seems just yesterday that I was ever so PLEASANTLY surprised to have my first little daughter placed in my arms.  I remember how delicate and beautiful she was.  She still is.  But, you can't imagine without having children the amount of love you can feel for such a tiny little person.  Ayva has been a sweetheart from day one.  She has blessed this home with song and dance.  She is poised and witty.  Cute and funny.  She is a good girl who values the morals and teachings she has been taught.  She chooses good friends.  She is a great listener.  She is very obedient.  She is kind and loving.  She is a hard worker.  She is athletic and fun.  She is well liked and a good student in school. She is the all around American girl that every boy dreams of and I am so proud of the choices that she had made thus far.  I know that she is a choiced daughter of our Father in Heaven and that He smiles down when he sees all that she does.

We awoke our sleeping beauty with breakfast in bed.  The kids are so good to treat the birthday person and get up early without complaint.  Ayva enjoyed her morning and decided last minute that she indeed wanted to stay home from school and have a birthday day.  I had given her the option to stay home the day of or the day before or after.  So, we made the best of her decision and hit the festivities early.  We got the other unlucky "schoolers" off to the grind and headed to Target to pick out her birthday outfit.  She chose many different colors and styles and I chose one outfit I thought would be cute.  We went into the dressing room and she tried each one on, shaking her head.  I finally gave her the clothes I had chosen.  She tried them on and WA-LA she was in love!  She looked adorable.  A pink short sleeved shirt with lace on the top and a pair of jean shorts with with lace on the outer corners.  She looked adorable.  We pinned the birthday pin to her new outfit and went to look for her birthday toy.  She looked carefully at each toy that lay there.  She finally decided on the American Doll kitchen set.  Both her and Ginger couldn't wait to get home to play with it but first, off for lunch.  She chose to eat at Cafe Rio.  She got her very own Chicken Salad and chips and salsa.  It was a feast.  We headed home after indulging and the girls got right to work on Ayva's birthday present.

I got dinner ready before Brad got home.  Per Ayva's request, fettuchini alfredo with garlic bread and chocolate cake.  We enjoyed a fun dinner with her and brought out the homemade gifts the kids had made for her.

Brad finished the evening with his grand finale present.  A brand new beach cruiser bike complete with a dry eraser pink helmet, a bell and a basket to mount on the front.  It is the cutest bike and she makes it look good!

All in all a wonderful day with our little Ayva Ann.  I feel so blessed to have her in our family and hope that she remembers her special ninth birthday.
